DUBAI VS SINGAPORE

Where to start!? There are so many similarities between the 2 hence why they are often compared against each other. Although on the surface they may appear similar the truth is they couldn't be more different. Yes they are both seen as glamorous and luxurious travel destinations, although I'd say Dubai has the edge on the luxury side of things but what Singapore lacks in luxury more than makes up for it in tech and when we say lack let's not take this for what is as it sure has a luxury when you can afford it, it's just not as in your face as it is in Dubai it's a lot more understated. Let's start with the obvious similarities - both incredibly clean and well groomed, both have famous hotels boasting incredible views - Marina Bay Sands Singapore which features a high end shopping mall, casino and giant infinity pool overlooking the city, and the Burj Al Arab Dubai being classified as the worlds only 7* hotel both being not only just famous but architecturally renowned for their unique designs. In both cities you will find famous dancing water fountains although we'd have to say the Singapore fountains top the Dubai fountains for it's spectacular choreography but both are out of this world and something that leaves you mesmerised! What really sets them apart is the activities available, an activity not to miss in Singapore is the free light show at the Gardens By The Bay, and we'd definitely recommend going to the top of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai the worlds tallest building!! Although both have man made beaches in Singapore you don't have as many to chose from and you don't have the option for the boujie beach clubs that you would find in Dubai. For us the food in Singapore is a lot better and you have incredible hawker food markets which give it the edge and gives you the opportunity to try different foods, especially in Chinatown the food is amazing! For culture we'd say that although Singapore is so diverse it feels a little like it doesn't have it's own culture whereas if you visit Dubai and venture to oldtown Bur Dubai here you will find culture similar to which you would find in Morocco with the streets filled with souks selling spices, gold and so much more and here they take water taxis rather than Rolls Royce's to get around. We absolutely love both places and out of all the places we've travelled to both of these would be somewhere we would happily move to and start a new life!
